Alexa is proud to serve as the organizations first duly elected Chairwoman. She was introduced to the
organization by her sister who encouraged her to participate in one of the pageants the organization
was hosting. She took the challenged and participated in the Ms. Puerto Rican Day Parade Pageant
where she took home first prize for talent, poise and ultimately winning the crown for queen of the
parade in 2010. Alexa continued to be involved in the organizations’ meetings, events and fundraisers
and went on to become a board member for several years. In 2019 she was elected the first woman/
chairwoman of The Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc. Alexa accepted the position and is honored to
have the opportunity to continue the legacy of The Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc. As a former NYC
school teacher, she enjoys teaching and sharing our culture with others and with the community.
